Welcome to the next instalment of our Breaking New Talent series. This time it’s out very own Bealie, INSIDE DNB’s resident DJ and chief representative on the One’s and Two’s. He’s been bought up with jungle and DNB and is third an generation raver, and we are buzzing to be able to represent his love for the scene here in full on the site. Plus, he’s our son, so why not give him a spot, innit! So here’s the Breaking New Talent Guest Mix, featuring our very own Bealie!

This Guest Mix you’ve put together for us is pure jungle fire. We’re guessing you’re a junglist at heart?

Of course! Jungle was a massive part of my childhood. There is something about the chopped up amen breaks and subby bass that just resonates with me, but I love almost any type of DNB.

There is so much good music around at the moment. Who would you say is really doing it for you right now, either labels or artists, or both?

There’s so much to choose from, but I’d have to say my favourite artists at the moment are: Toby Ross, DJ Hybrid, Samurai Breaks and 4AM Kru. Label wise, I would have to say Critical, Souped Up and SSBB are my favourites.

And what about DJs? You’ve grown up with a lot of the pioneers but also have one foot firmly in the here and now, so which DJs really would you pick to play at your wedding?

Samurai Breaks, Ray Keith and Randall are all undisputed Dons as far as I’m concerned.

You’ve played at a few local events. What would you say is the best part of DJing?

That would have to be the people I’ve met through it. There’s some amazing people in this local scene who I don’t think I would have had the confidence to make the step behind the decks without.

There is a very strong DNB collective in your area of Pembrokeshire, West Wales as well though, so who you shouting out?

I think if we’re talking Pembrokeshire, we have to talk Back to Bassix, they’ve been killing it since wayyyyy before my raving days started and are continuing to do so. Rambunctious are also absolutely smashing it at the minute as well. And of course Union Sounds, the undisputed kings of this part of Wales.
