1996 – Speed Garage

While we could never confess to being house or garage experts, we definetely can say, without any reservation, that the combination of jungle and garage created the speed garage scene here in the UK, and 1996 was the year that those seeds were first starting to be sown.

While only a handful of tracks here employ that classic reece bass that the scene became associated with in later years, the bump and grind of the undulating basslines are present and correct, and you can hear where they were going with this scene in this handful of classic releases from that year.
