HYPER – The Stevie Hyper D Story – UK Cinema Debut
Stevie Hyper D was one of the best MCs the international drum and bass scene has ever known, possibly THE best. His life was tragicaaly cut short in 1998 after years and years of hard graft. He was on the cusp of international stardom and a bright future as an MC at the very top of his game. Ten years ago a discussion between his nephew Darrell Austin and film director and producer Jamie Ross-Hulme gave birth to an idea for a full length feature film about Stevie’s life story. Fast forward to 2024 and Hyper – The Stevie Hyper D Story has seen its first airing in Odeon cinemas across the UK, with a second showing scheduled for the 27th November. We have seen the film and also managed to catch up with Jamie to get some insight into the journey from initial idea to big screen. BIG UP to EVERYONE involved in this epic and NOT TO BE MISSED film that has just become the most important production regarding DNB history so far.
