The Death Beats x Jasmine Knight x Dope Ammo – Only the Best (UK)

Put three drum and bass heavyweights in the same collaborative space and (unless they fall out over who’s turn it is to make a cup of tea), you know you’re going to get some serious vibes at the end of the process. With summer now in full swing, what better time to immerse yourself in the sunshine soaked overtones of a trio with well in excess of 60 years + experience in the rave.

Deathray proudly presents a high-voltage remix collaboration courtesy of electronic music veterans Dope Ammo and RareForm, taking on the soaring analogue melodies of Synthwave legends The Death Beats and the emotionally charged voice of Jasmine Knight.

RareForm, once a pioneering force in the late ’90s underground scene, makes a bold return alongside one of the genre’s most respected trailblazers, Dope Ammo; an artist whose production talents have defined the sound of drum & bass and jungle for nearly three decades.

Channeling the electric nostalgia of classic ’80s synth anthems, ‘Only the Best’ blends uplifting Rave pianos, lush textures, and driving arpeggios before exploding into an energetic mix of bouncing subs and rolling breaks, while the epic vocals of Jasmine Knight take centre stage.

Dope Ammo has been ripping up sound systems for decades now, and fresh back from a Dope Ammo stage takeover at the mighty Glastonbury festival a few weeks ago, adds piano based elements of 90’s rave nostalgia to the track.

RareForm (AKA The Death Beats) supplies signature tom fills and staple 80s fx that intertwine perfectly adding depth and space across the mix.

And Jasmine Knight? Her blisteringly forthright vocal lets you know from the outset that she means business. If you follow her on social media, you’ll know she’s an artist that works from the heart and as she proudly states, she wants ‘only the best around me’. She also hosts the ‘Honest Talks’ podcast with some of the best female role models in the business.

If it’s a summer slammer you’re after, then this is the tune for you. We’re proudly Premiering it today as well. Aren’t you lucky! Happy Friday everyone.
