The Rest Is History: The Early Days of Jungle & Drum ‘n’ Bass

Did you know there’s a wicked new documentary on the birth of jungle called ‘The Rest Is History’?

Here’s the blurb:

Born in Scotland, raised in Canada, Peter Costigan was a lover of cinema from an early age. By the time he was 11 he had become a television actor and soon found himself with major roles in Canadian productions such as Robocop (the television series), Goosebumps and Wind at My Back. In his early twenties Peter attended the Toronto film school with plans of moving behind the camera and becoming a film director.

After graduating his plans soon changed when he was introduced to Jungle/Drum and Bass music. Being a passionate music lover and musician, he decided that he was going to become a Drum and Bass producer/DJ. With dozens of songs released over the next 9 years Peter Costigan, a.k.a “stickbubbly”, became a well established and sought out Drum and Bass D.J in North America.

In 2015, never forgetting his love for film, he decided to bring his two passions together and make a feature length documentary about Jungle/Drum and Bass music. For the next three years Peter worked tirelessly interviewing, and editing his film (The Rest is History) spending long hours travelling around the UK gathering archive footage and pictures to tell the story of this music that he loves so much. With the film now completed, Peter is busy promoting his work and writing screenplays for his next projects.

Did some bits for Eternity Magazine back in the 90s, then some bits for Knowledge and UKF over the last 20 years on and off. Now running this website as a form of therapy, but also to keep in touch with the music and pay it forward, both to established artists and the new gen, because without them the music dies.
