TUNE OF THE WEEK – THE DEATHBEATS X SARA CRUZ – YOUR LOVING ARMS

We don't do a TUNE OF THE WEEK every week. In fact, we don't even do one every month, but every now and then an absolutely unstoppable banger turns up that can't be ignored.

We’ve been staunch supporters of The Deathbeats forever. They’ve provided some really stellar output over the last few years and today sees them drop a classy, contemporary and completely addictive rendition of the early 90’s classic ‘Your Loving Arms’ by Billie Ray Martin.

There’s just something about the sun drenched 80’s California synth sounds that The Deathbeats Gary.J.Robinson layers his music with. It really evokes the feeling of beach side sunsets and windswept skin, and we’re huge fans.

That coupled seamlessly with Sara Cruz’s effortless vocals really make this weeks TUNE OF THE WEEK pop.

One of the hallmarks of a really great tune is that before you know it, 4 minutes plus has just sailed by because you’ve been so engrossed in the journey, and this banger does exactly that.

If you love catchy, beautifully produced DNB with added vocal flair, you’re gonna love this!

The Deathbeats collaborated with Sara (and Chris Keya) on the synthwave/DNB mash-up ‘Otherside’ last year, which we also premiered on their behalf, and this duo hit the nail on the head when it comes to fresh, infectious dancefloor vibes.

Sara herself sings over everything from acoustic, dreampop and of course drum and bass, and her sultry vocals ride lusciously over the top of all of those styles. We’re big fans, and it’s always exciting to hear what she’s going to come up with next.

Needless to say, we were very happy indeed to be involved with The Deathbeats next chapter, and hope you get just as wrapped up in their unique sound as we do.

Now running this website as a form of therapy, but also to keep in touch with the music and pay it forward, both to established artists and the new gen, because without them the music dies.
